16:0 against Sue Schönbrunn in the first round, 6:0 against Carinthians Spittal/Draw in the second round, 3:0 against Sturm Graz in the quarter-finals. The Purple side have remained flawless in the cup season so far, celebrating three clear victories with a goal difference of 25:0 and being the only team to remain without conceding a goal.
With euphoria against a big team
A tough challenge awaits SPG Altach/Vorderland in the semi-finals. “The atmosphere is great, the anticipation for this match is great,” explains captain Verena Volkmer before departing on Friday morning. “This has really increased over the last few weeks, as we have been able to play it very successfully.”
Coach Stefan Kenesi is also aware of this anticipation and knows the strengths of his team, but at the same time the strengths of the Vorarlberg team: “We have shown a very flawless performance in all the cup matches this season. The start of spring was good, now we want to take the euphoria with me.” In this duel I am convinced of my team. But obviously we need a great day where everything is right because Altash is a big team.”
Goal: Final!
The last meeting between the two teams ended 1-1, and Verena Volkmer equalized in the second half of the Altash rain battle in November. A result that will lead to extra time this time.
“Obviously the goal is to win and get to the final. We said from the beginning that we want to go as far as possible in the cup and win this title. Once you are so close to the final, you definitely want it. There,” says Volkmer, very motivated.
ORF Sport+ will broadcast the second semi-final match, between SKN St. Pölten vs. First Vienna FC, live via conference call on Saturday from 12:55 p.m. in ORF TV library The violet toy can be seen in full length.
