With the Vivo V21, the Chinese manufacturer is introducing a mid-range smartphone that mainly features an excellent front camera of 39.9 MP including autofocus, two front lights and Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS). OIS is still a special feature of the front cameras. This should inspire selfie lovers in particular, who can look forward to well-lit, detailed selfies. In addition, various selfie filters and circumvention tools are installed on the software, including night mode and multi-frame noise reduction.
The triple camera system on the back of the Vivo 21 consists of a 64MP main camera which is complemented by an 8MP wide angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. The main camera also has optical image stabilization, which ensures sharp images and prevents blurring. It shoots UHD videos at 30fps – some models from the competition already record 60fps here.
Image quality differs only slightly in testing under different lighting conditions: our experts give it 2.0 (good) under daylight and we also like the photos under low light. However, a little bit of noise can be seen in dim light and images can be clearer. On the other hand, there is nothing to complain about with the front camera – the numerous features inspire you in the test, so that experts give a smooth 1.0 score (very good). This pulls the cutoff: Overall, our lab rates overall image quality with an overall subjective score of 1.7 (good).
