If you want to buy a new graphics card from US online mail order company Newegg, you can trade in your old one for a set amount. Geforce 20 and 30 series GPUs and Radeon RX 5000 and 6000 are accepted in trade, Newegg also takes condition into account when determining cash value.
Newegg customers have an awesome alternative to cashing in on their old graphics card while purchasing a new graphics card at the same time. Such business-plans offered by the American online mail order company are not new; A similar one can be found at Colorful Company in China. Newegg has published a list of graphics cards with Nvidia or AMD chips that those interested in the program can cash in on. It lists the RTX 20 and 30 GPUs as well as the Radeon RX 5000 and 6000.
This is how the GPU trade-in program works
Program participants can use the graphics card product pages to find out if the graphics card they’re looking at is eligible for a trade-in. A form must then be filled out collecting details such as chip, model and brand. In the next step, the customer selects the new graphics card they want to buy from Newegg, and then the value of the GPU submitted for trade is displayed.

If the customer decides to replace it, they can return their old graphics card within two weeks. Newegg covers shipping costs. The US mail order company verifies that all information on the submitted graphics card is correct. If this is the case, the customer will receive a credit equal to the trade-in value deducted when purchasing the new graphics card. If the information is incorrect, Newegg will return the submitted product to the customer, at which time they will pay the shipping costs themselves.
Trade-in program participants can earn more money with Geforce RTX 3090 Ti. Here Newegg gives the estimated value of the trade-in at $561. On AMD’s side, you’ll get the most for the Radeon RX 6950 XT, $375 to be exact. Depending on the condition of the graphics card, the mail order company reserves the right to reduce the exchange value accordingly. A full list of all graphics cards and their equivalents can be found on the Newegg Trade-In Program website.
