eA 58-year-old woman from the United States dives into the sea Bahamas Killed by a shark. Bahamas police said a Pennsylvania woman was attacked Tuesday afternoon (local time) in the waters of Green Cay near the capital, Nassau.
The US citizen stopped off on an island cruise and went on a snorkeling trip with her family.
Police said tour operators and her family tried to rescue the woman. In vain – she was seriously injured on the left side of her body. When she was brought ashore, lifeguards pronounced her dead.
The family of five was on a week-long cruise aboard Harmony of the Seas in Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean confirmed the victims’ deaths and provided “support and assistance” to the victim’s family.
In 2019, a young American woman was fatally attacked by three sharks while diving in the same area.
