On Saturday night, the United States topped the World Cup qualifiers in the CONCACAF Zone with a 2-0 (0-0) victory over Mexico in Cincinnati. After seven matches, the United States is two goals down on arch-rivals Mexico (14 each).
Christian Pulisic (74th) and Weston McKenzie (85th) scored for Salzburg’s Brendan Aronson in the 69th minute.
On Tuesday, US Strawlers hosts Jamaica and third-placed Canada hosts Mexico. The first three are guaranteed to take part in the World Cup.
