By winter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to improve the country's currently disastrous electricity supply due to systematic Russian attacks.
“We are preparing solutions to get through the heating season more safely and to offer people more options to get through this very difficult period regarding energy supplies, shortages and outages,” Zelensky said in his daily video address yesterday.
Kyiv will also mobilize other partners for this purpose. The Ukrainian head of state did not provide any details.
Russian attack disrupts energy supplies again
According to Kiev, an intense Russian airstrike hit several energy supply facilities today. The state energy supplier reported damage in Vinnitsa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kiev regions in the morning. The exact extent remains to be determined. For its part, Ukraine attacked oil facilities in Russia with drones.
Regional Governor Serhiy Borsov said on the Telegram app that the damage in the Vinnytsia region was caused by the wreckage of a Russian drone.
According to regional information, a power line and an unspecified industrial facility were bombed in the Kiev region. Explosions were reported overnight in the city of Dnipro and the Zaporizhya region.
Ukraine has been resisting the Russian invasion for more than two years. Their attacks in remote enemy areas are primarily aimed at disrupting the fuel supply of the Russian army.
